The first thing out of both Grant and Alia's mouths when we got to McKinney was "Why are we here?". When we got out of the car, we had to walk along a tree-lined path before we reached anything interesting. They thought we'd just be hiking all day and just hiking is no fun for them.
Soon we reached the falls though, and they ran to the water. The rock they are sitting on in the picture above isn't easy to get to - you have to cross the river or leap from rock to rock. So they took off their shoes and waded in, thrilled by the challenge of reaching all the nooks and crannies of the park.
By the time we left they'd changed their story: "When are we coming back?"
