Alia is so much more beautiful than this picture shows...guess I'll just have to capture more photos of her myself! She is loving 1st grade, though. And learning so much! She can add large numbers now, like 34 + 4, and even better, she's starting to enjoy reading. Getting her to read used to involve a lot of bribing and cajoling (completely the opposite of Grant) but now she reads the books her teacher sends home each night gladly. She also likes to pop out science trivia here and there as we go throughout the day. "Mom, did you know that flower has pollen on it? And it gets spread to other flowers?" I can't even believe how much more artistic she is this year than she was last year as well. Yesterday she told me she was going to draw a red bird....and it actually looked like a red bird! Amazing.
